This notice explains what we do with your information. It is deliberately short, because we collect very little.
Your birth date and time usually never reach us
The map is calculated entirely in your browser. Your birth date and time are used by JavaScript running on your own device, and are not transmitted, logged or stored — so if you only ever use the free map, we never receive them.
Two exceptions. As you type your birth place we search our own list of towns and send back matches, because we carry too many places to send the whole list to your browser; those searches are answered and forgotten, never logged, and never go to a third party. And if you buy a reading, your birth details are sent to us then, because we need them to produce and record what you paid for.
What we hold when you buy a reading
- Your birth date, time and place, and the location you asked us to read — to generate the reading.
- Your email address, given to Stripe at checkout and passed to us — so we can identify your purchase and help if something goes wrong.
- A payment reference from Stripe, plus the amount and currency. We never see or store your card details.
- The written reading itself, so re-opening your link doesn't charge you again.
Who else is involved
- Stripe processes the payment and handles all card data.
- Anthropic generates the written synthesis. We send only the place name and the list of planetary lines near it — not your birth date, time, place, name or email.
- Railway hosts the site and database.
We do not sell your data and we do not share it with advertisers.
No cookies, no tracking
This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics or advertising trackers. There is no consent banner because there is nothing to consent to.
Legal basis and how long we keep it
Where you have bought a reading, we process your data to perform that contract, and keep the record for six years to meet UK tax and accounting requirements. Checkouts that never resulted in a payment are deleted after 90 days.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, object to processing, or ask for it in a portable format. Email hello@wherethestarsfall.com and we will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
